Valentine’s Day Fundraiser

ASUCC hosted a Valentine’s Day fundraiser which was based in the front lobby of the Student Center from Feb. 6 to Valentine’s Day.

The student government sold a myriad of Valentine’s Day items including carnation bouquets, chocolate roses, bean bag stuffed animals and the assorted rubber ducks that have become familiar with all recent ASUCC events. Most items were $1, with a few items costing $2.

Pre-orders for the items started as early as Feb. 6 and the ASUCC deliveried items on Feb. 13 and 14 to the recipients of the Valentines.

Student Life Director Marjan Coester, who supervised the event, said that the event went well and that there was “an even, steady flow of customers with a mix of students and staff buying the merchandise.”

Coester explained that ASUCC was unable to keep the popular yearly tradition of Valentine’s Day balloons because of increases in helium prices.

All of the proceeds from the fundraiser went to the non-profit Douglas County Veterans Forum.
