Coach Lacy Pinard was born and raised in the Roseburg area. She started playing volleyball at 11 years of age. Early in her volleyball career, Pinard attended UCC volleyball camps and was inspired by the instructor, Cheryl Yoder. At Douglas High in Winston, Pinard lettered in volleyball, basketball and softball for three years. To gain a better chance of earning a scholarship, Pinard attended Roseburg High her senior year for volleyball. Due to a strong work ethic, she earned a full ride scholarship to Mt. Hood Community College after graduating in 2001. Since then Pinard has played and coached club teams and sand teams around the region.

Pinard inherits a team that had its best record since the inception of the program. Unfortunately, there are no returning players, leaving her to recruit an entirely new team. She is trying to recruit players solely from Douglas County.

Pinard is currently employed by Mercy Medical Center and Shaw Heart and vascular specialists. She has been married for eight years and has two children: a 10-year-old son and an 8-year-old daughter.

“My biggest goal is to inspire and mentor the young women in this program and help bring UCC and Roseburg closer together,” Pinard said.
