Greetings all,
I’m Michael Lewis, business manager for ASUCC. I oversee the budget and student services ASUCC offers, such as project C.A.N.S, the backpack program and gas cards.
As we all know the holiday season is already upon us. With most of the campus a buzz with winter excitement, several of our own students will be making decisions on how to feed their families because they do not have the financial means to provide a special holiday mean.
ASUCC is working on a food drive that will raise 25 or more Thanksgiving food boxes. We have placed blue bins throughout the campus. We are looking to collect holiday meal items including: 10-12 lbs. turkeys, fresh potatoes, cranberries, corn, green beans, yams, cream of mushroom soup, peas, olives, fruit cocktail, chicken broth, onion straws, stuffing mix ,gravy mix packages, dinner rolls. For storage reason, we preferred canned items, unless otherwise specified. In order to make the holidays special, we are also collecting fresh or frozen pumpkin pie, whipped cream, pudding mix and sparkling cider. A few other items needed for the final touches on this special holiday meal are aluminum foil and disposable roasting pans.
Not able to make it to the store? ASUCC can also accept monetary donations. The Foundation will graciously match donations dollar for dollar, up to $500.
ASUCC is excited for the opportunity to help students in need in our community. If are somebody you know is in need of a food box please check in with a representative from academic advising, financial aid, the TRiO program, or Student Life Director Marjan Coester.

Happy Thanksgiving from all of as at ASUCC!!!
