Public forums today

Public input into the presidential selection process is being solicited at two public forums to be held at UCC. Students and staff as well as the general public are invited to attend. The forums will consist of two hour-long meetings to be held on Monday, Nov. 22 at 3 p.m. and at 4 p.m. in the Whipple CenterStage theatre on the UCC campus.

Executive search consultant, Pamila Fisher, of the Association of Community College Trustees will be conducting the forums to gain input on the qualities the public would like to see in a new president and what they think are the most pressing challenges and opportunities facing the college. The forum will also provide an overview of the search process.

Fisher has also requested confidential email input from UCC community members regarding what they want in their next president. Information gained from the open forum, confidential email comments and from a meeting with the Board of Trustees will be developed into a position profile to guide the presidential search.

This profile and other relevant search information will be available in early December on UCC’s website.

Please contact Pamila Fisher at pamfisher@bresnan.net to submit confidential input or to nominate a candidate for president.

The Mainstream is a student publication of Umpqua Community College.
