John Cox, fishing trip

Letters to the Editor
Kathy Cox thanks her husband's UCC family

John Cox, who worked for U.C.C. for 27 years, passed away on the morning of April 26th, 2012. John loved his job. You could usually see him on the sweeper, mowing the grounds, trimming a tree or helping a student. Whatever he was doing, he was happy. John loved to fish, that was his favorite pastime. I called him my gentle giant. His heart was bigger than he was.  He cared about people. He always wanted the college to feel like family again. He got his wish when Joe Olson became the president. John would come home from work happy to have the family feeling at work once again. He will be missed by so many but never forgotten.

Many thanks to Dr. Olson and all the staff for all the nice things you have done for John. But, most of all, thank you for making John’s wish come true and making the campus feel like family for him.

—Kathy Cox
